When should I start my recruiting process?We recommend that you start the college recruiting process during your junior year, ideally 1-2 years prior to graduation. By starting early, you will have enough time for all the necessary steps, and coaches will have time to plan their budget with you in mind. With the UtSA, you have a dedicated team supporting you every step of the way. From finding your dream college and getting in touch with your future college coach to preparing for admission tests (TOEFL and SAT) and completing the necessary paperwork for the student visa and the college application.

What does recruiting really means here?College sports recruiting refers to the process in which a college or university representative recruits an athlete to play for their college team. This representative, often the team coach, needs to know about your profile and that you're looking for a spot. We work hard to make sure you have as many offers as you need before you find the right one. *Spoiler alert - we take your expectations very seriously! With that in mind, it usually doesn't take very long.

How will I know which University is best for me?Our team of experts have a lot of experience (we were all student athletes once too and we've been working on this for a long time). With that in mind, we advise you according to what's more important to you in terms of expectations in terms of experiences, academics and athletics, and financial needs. We never tell you which path to choose - but we give you everything you need to make the right decision.

How Many College Divisions Are There?There are different college divisions because there are various associations for college sports. The two major ones are the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) and the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics). There are three NCAA divisions (D1, D2, and D3) and NAIA division 1 and Division 2. There is also NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association), which oversees athletics on community colleges and junior colleges in the US.

What Is The Difference Between NAIA And NCAA?NCAA and NAIA are two different associations overseeing student-athletes in the US. They each have their own set of rules, regulations, terms, sport scholarships, and college sports divisions.

Can I Combine Scholarships?Yes, different scholarships can be combined, such as a sports scholarship, an academic scholarship and scholarships for international students. This allows you to maximize the benefits and financial support during your time studying abroad.

What are my chances of receiving a full ride (100%) scholarship?Sports scholarships help student-athletes cover college costs such as tuition, books, dormitory fees, and expenses related to their sports practice. Scholarships can be either full or partial. Your chances of being awarded with a full ride depend on a couple of aspects: Your athletic background Your grades Your expectations when it comes to the College/ University you want to go to and how that translates to your profile How early the coach finds out about you Its important to understand that if coaches find out about you too late, the may not have the amount of money they'd think of offering you.
